Finding Your People: Mentorship & Community

Tarah Townsell - Monday, October 12
 General   Events

Happy Fall, fellow social work students!

We are hosting a student-led group on October 21st at 5:45 pm (PST)/ 6:45 pm (MST) virtually! We hope to connect LC students, specifically social work students, but ALL are WELCOME, together in community.

We received a lot of feedback from students about how they are feeling while trying to balance classes and life. The SOSW Club wanted to create a space where we can talk to each other and find some connection and support with one another, as students, peers, and future colleagues.

Some of us are on campus; some of us are remote students. This group will be open to any enrolled LCSC student, regardless of where you live.

Some of the topics that may be discussed include:

  • Navigating classes and mental health
  • Relationships
  • Identity
  • Future of the profession/college education & access
  • Sociopolitical stress
  • Balancing internship/school/life

Please complete this very brief survey to help us narrow down the focus topics!

This should be a safe and engaging space for us to connect and learn useful skills and tools to help us in the future. We hope to see you all there!

SOSW Club Fundraiser

We are fundraising for the LEAD Conference in February!

What is LEAD?

LEAD is a valuable opportunity for social workers across the state of Idaho to come together and learn to lobby, understand political issues from the social work perspective, learn the importance of social workers' involvement in political engagement, and participate in advocacy for our great state of Idaho.

What do you have to do?

You just have to grab some pizza at any of the locations listed on the flyer on October 30th.

Use MODGIVES20 to order online or mention the flyer when ordering!
You’ll get 20% off, and the SOSW Club gets to raise funds for the trip to Boise!

Locations include:

Coeur d’Alene, Lewiston, and BOTH Boise locations!

Please reach out to the SOSW Club for more information if you are interested in participating in or attending LEAD Advocacy Day in 2027!
